Seasons Greeting from Minnesota!
The holiday is not over yet...the new year is coming :) I had a wonderful Christmas and hope you all did too. I skyped on Christmas eve with my family in California (we have been for the past couple years) and watched each other open presents. It's always nice to feel like I'm there for part of the Christmas even though I'm really not there...you know what I mean :). Thanks to skype!
The husband and I woke up early on Christmas morning to see what Santa bought us this year. I'm happy to find out that one of the gifts was a pair of new boots that I've been wanting! Yepee!
Christmas morning tea with my new monogram cup.
After our little Christmas morning we dressed ourselves up to get ready to spend the rest of our Christmas with my in-laws. It was a fabulous time! What makes it so fun this year was our little Santa helper - helping Santa distributing presents...so cute!
And we had some delicious food!
It was definitely a wonderful Christmas with the family! Looking forward to a new year!

Athena

Seasons Greeting from California!
Kicked off the weekend with an Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
Santa got me a Kindle this year!
Favorite Christmas ornaments from Target.
And of course topped it off with a beautiful Christmas service with the family at our home church, a delightful lunch with friends and family and the first day of the NBA season. Who could ask for a better Christmas...
XOXO,
Dora D.

Merry Christmas!
Embriven is wishing you and your family a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Have fun celebrating this special day this weekend!
And here are some last, last minute Christmas gift suggestions...
"To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service...
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect”
To God, servant hood
and to all, LOVE
Let the spirit of Christmas bring you peace, the gladness of Christmas give you hope, the warmth of Christmas grant you love!
XOXO,
embriven

DIY: Felt Pom Pom
I had a day full of wrapping presents and making felt pompom bows. I don't love to wrap presents but when I do wrap them I have to make it nice and unique :) and I love using paper bag craft paper to wrap presents - it just gives a very unique look. I also like to use yarn as my bow tie and make pompoms. Last year I wrapped my presents with yarn pompom. This year I tried something new and make pompoms out of felt so I thought it would be fun to share it with you. Have fun making it!
1. Here's what you'll need: yarn, ribbons, scissor, string and felt sheets (9"X12" in the picture)
2. cut the felt sheet in a rectangular shape - in this case it'll be in half. You can make the rectangular in any size you like - that will just determine what size you want your pompoms to be.
3. fold the rectangle in half
4. While it is folded, cut strips from the open end towards the folded end. DO NOT cut all the way through.
5. undo the fold
6. then fold the felt in half
7. keep folding it until you no longer can make any more folds
8. cut a piece of string and tie the middle of the folded felt very, very tight
9. cut pieces of yarn and ribbons however long you like
10. place the yarns/ribbons onto the felt and use the same string that you used to tie the felt to tie the yarns/ribbons together with the felt
11. this is how it should look like after it is tied together
12. puff up the pompoms so it becomes round
TA DA! You now have a pretty pompom bow.

Christmas Spirit
Can't believe December is here so fast and it has been very cold in Minnesota. Of course with lots of snow too. Most exciting month of the year!
We finally had a chance to pick out our Christmas tree today...I know it's a little late but it's better than no tree. For the most part, our family have always had a Christmas tree growing up and my mother would always get a real tree...there's just something about the smell of that pine tree in your home that makes it feel even more like Christmas. I went through Christmas with no tree last year and it just didn't feel right. That's our little baby tree we picked out today! :)
This is a peek of our holiday pictures...making it simple and getting ready to send out those Christmas cards!
I'm pretty much done with my Christmas gift shopping (maybe a couple more to go) and the majority of it was done online...love the convenience of online shopping. This week will be full of decorations, wrapping and shipping out presents and waiting for a special guest to arrive! Whoo hoo! Starting to feel a lot like Christmas!
XoXo,
Athena
