Get to Know Miss California Pageant Contestant - Bianca Pegg

It has been a great privilege to have had the opportunity to get to know Miss Bianca Pegg in the past year. She is such an amazing person with a great heart. I was so blessed to have her be a part of the Embriven Fashion Show. She drove 4 hrs just to be a part of it! Anyways, I wanted to show her off to the world and encourage you all to please cast your vote for her by sharing this video: Bianca Pegg Channel

Bianca Pegg is competing for the Miss California USA 2012 Title this month and is representing Shasta County.

I've asked her a bunch of random questions so you all can get to know her a little bit better.

Any Nicknames?
Binks, B are my nicknames. Only my very close friends call me binks and i love it.

Favorite Color:
Blue is definitely my favorite color, it never goes out of season! haha

Hobbies?
Can watching movies be a hobby? I am an avid movie watcher lol. Other than that i love to write and play music. I sing and play keyboard.

How do you describe your sense of style?
I would say my style is always a modern take on vintage. I love classic style icons like audrey hepburn, but love to mix it up with some contemporary trends and even add a little rock and roll like Gwen Stefani.

State your New Years Resolution.
I have actually never made any New Year's resolutions! I do hope this year is better than ever and I plan to master time management, but I wouldn't call it a resolution.

What made you join the pageant?
I decided to compete for Miss California this year because I have dreamed about it for a long time, but this year is different because I have made it my go for it year! Ben Franklin said the key to success is to never leave what could be done today till tomorrow. I would be honored to represent our beautiful state in the national competition as well as the Miss USA organization. They do so much every year in charity work. It is truly amazing.

What have you learn from the experience so far?
So far I have learned the value of confidence and femininity. A lot of people underestimate the power of true beauty, and I firmly believe that when people embrace who they are it not only changes those individuals, but also positively impacts the people around them. I always want to be a positive influence on my environment, and I am able to do so when I embrace confidence in who I am as a woman. Everyone deserves to have a voice! This pageant is a way for me to stand for who I am and what I believe.

One thing I'll personally never forget about Bianca was that she was the one that helped me calm down and take a breather on the day of the Embriven Fashion Show. She knew I was nervous and scared... so she sat me down and prayed a simple prayer with me... and that was all it took...

Meet the Models - Session 4

She has the drive, the attitude and the professionalism. She's hot, beautiful and rad. These are just a few words to describe her...we come to believe that this model not only is a force in the fashion world but also in everything else she does. Don't believe us? Become her facebook friend or give her a try :)

Here's a young girl with a great big heart...
Kelly Masaye Tanimura

Any nickname?
Kelstar. Kelbel. Kellybugs, but that’s strictly reserved for my dad!

What's your favorite color?
Minty green.

What's your favorite food?
Anything Mexican or Italian! Or Thai…or Indian. I love food way too much!

How long have you been modeling for?
4 years. Gosh! Has it really been that long!?

What do you find most challenging in modeling?
Not comparing myself to other girls and their accomplishments. It’s so easy to do that when you’re surrounded by beautiful, accomplished ladies!

What made you want to start modeling?
I honestly have no idea. I don’t like being the center of attention. I’m going to skip to the next question because even talking about it makes me nervous!

Are there any models out there that inspired you?
Tons! I have met so many inspirational models. Girls who are not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. Girls who have their M.B.A.’s and CPA’s, own their own businesses, go to Stanford and have 4.0’s. But Karli Kloss is one of my favorite current working models. She is so beautiful and seems like such a sweet, down to earth person.

How would you describe your style?
Updated Grandma? Just kidding (kind of). I love vintage-y prep with a kick!

One of your favorite modeling projects that you have done?
L.A. Fashion Week was definitely one of my favorites. But there are too many to have one specific favorite! When you work with a designer on a shoot or a show and you see how much work they put into their clothing, you feel invested in their work as well and you just want them to succeed. They’re all my favorites!

What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
Everything! (Almost.) The feeling you get walking down the runway is like no other! It is such a blessing to be able to help represent a designer’s message in their clothing.

Any advice/secrets on how to have the perfect walk on the runway?
I’ll let you know when I get it. Kidding! I pray before I go out on the runway to center my heart on God. But just have confidence, relax, have a good time, and own it!

Meet the Models - Session 3

We love hearing people chasing after their dreams and succeeding. Nothing can be more awesome than being able to do what you are passionate about. The next model up is not just beautiful on the outside but her determination to go after her passion makes her a great inspiration for us all.

Let us present...
Mamta Jain aka MJ

What's your favorite color?
Not one, I got three...Black, White and Pink.

What's your favorite food?
food or cuisine? well favorite food is Tadka Dal-Chawal (Indian) and favorite cuisine is Thai.

How long have you been modeling for?
on and off about 6 years.

What do you find most challenging in modeling?
I always take my modeling as challange no matter if I am on the ramp or having a shoot for a video or print. I noticed, everytime I challange myself and do it for my happiness and passion rather than expecting results from other people. That way, I always find myself succeed specially when it comes to modeling.

What made you want to start modeling?
Nothing actully made me do that, I do not expect anything from it, I want to do it because I am passionate about it. And if you are passionate about something no one can really stop you by achieving it. So do your best and result will always be in your favor!

Are there any models out there that inspired you?
Elizabeth Hurley

How would you describe your style?
My style changes everyday, just like fashion. I do not have any specific line for my style. Everytime you see me, it will be my own style from my clothing to eating. And I am sure you will love it ;-))

One of your favorite modeling projects that you have done?
I love all of them but I really enjoyed recent Netflix Shoot, Project Pink to support the fight against Breast Cancer, Charlotte Russe shoot, Fahion shows with Helium Magazine etc.

What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
Only Model knows that doing modeling itself is fun.I cannot really put that in words but I feel very calm, happy and excited every time I do it. Since its my passion and I am good at it, it gives me happiness in everything I do. And that is the biggest reward I see in it. Also, you get to wear good clothes, good pictures, get to meet good people and of course sometimes I get good pay too.

What advice/tips would you give to a new model that gets nervous on stage?
It's very normal to feel nervous but I always say that when it's first time on the Ramp be confident about yourself. Do not worry about what people might think. There might be million people out there and you cannot make every person to like how you walk or present yourself. So be good to yourself before you think about anyone else. If you are not tall enough, than it just because you are putting yourself there. STOP that negative feeling. Practice and fun will take you whereever you want to be. Like I always say Play to have fun not to win and in the end you will always be a winner.;-))

Meet the Models - Session 2

The next model that we're about to introduce is definitely beautiful but to top that she has an adorable humorous personality that makes you love to be around with. We enjoyed working with her and look forward to continue to work with her in the near future.

Please meet...

Sonia Chopra

Any nickname?
Believe it or not people used to call me Sony Playstation growing up...

What's your favorite color?
I'm a purple person. My bridesmaids are definitely wearing purple at my wedding.

What's your favorite food?
Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am OBSESSED with sushi.

How long have you been modeling for?
I have been continuously modeling for one year as of October! I did a couple shows when I was 16, but now I'm pursuing it alongside school.

Are there any models out there that you look up to?
Alexandra Ambrosio from Victoria Secret, who wouldn't buy whatever she is wearing?

One of your favorite modeling projects that you have done?
I really loved shooting for LHC Couture, and doing runway shows for Shekhar Rahate (FUN FACT, we got to perform with Jay Sean before he was famous)

What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
I absolutely love fashion and working with all different sorts of people. I've made such good friends throughout this past year. It doesn't hurt that I get to get all dolled up every once and a while either..

Do you have any wacky beauty tip?
I have some pretty weird beauty tips haha..
I freeze my eyeliner so that it doesn't crumble or smudge at all... it goes on 100% perfect.
I use Vaseline as an eye makeup remover.
I use a mix of egg whites, milk, and olive oil on my hair once a week as a deep conditioner.. it helps my hair grow faster and stay stronger. Weird, maybe. But I swear it works!

Do you see yourself continuing to pursue fashion?
I'm planning to transfer as a junior to UCLA next year to study Communications, but I plan on continuing to model down in SoCal.

What is something that people may not know about you?
I'm one of those people who always has to be busy! I have four part time jobs and take a full load of classes.. I love what I do so it's not anything I will regret.

Three words friends would describe you as....
I have been called a hopeless romantic, a workaholic, and a goofball on several occasions.

Meet the Models - Session 1

We were so blessed to have such wonderful and talented models to be a part of the Embrace Fashion Show. Not only do they all look stunning on stage but they are as beautiful off stage. Each and everyone one of them has their own unique character and style that will draw your attention. We thought it would be fun to do a small Q&A session with some of the models so that you can get to know them a bit.

Allow me to introduce to you...
Alexandra Loeffler aka Ally

What's your favorite color?
Right now, I'm really attracted to this rusty camel color.

What's your favorite food?
I love Thai food!

How long have you been modeling for?
I've been modeling since around 2008.

What do you find most challenging in modeling?
The most challenging part of modeling for me is trying to stand out and not blend in with the thousands of other models out there.

What made you want to start modeling?
I started modeling mostly due to the insane amount of people telling me I should. It has always been in the back of my mind as something I would want to try, but school has always come first for me. But as soon as I stepped out on the runway for the first time, I fell in love.

Are there any models out there that you look up to?
I think Adriana Lima is simply gorgeous.

How would you describe your style?
My style is inspired by vintage looks. I get most of my retro wardrobe from thrifting. I like to keep my look classic and timeless then edge it up with some more modern pieces.

What is one of your favorite modeling projects that you have done?
One of my favorite shows would have to be the most recent Bay Area Fashion Week simply because of all the great people I got the chance to work with.

What is fun and rewarding about modeling?
I get to play dress up! It's every little girl's dream.

Any advice/secrets on how to take the perfect photo?
My advice is to be natural and have fun. Stop worrying so much about looking perfect.
